Jensen Huang (Nvidia) says AI will lead to job losses "if the world runs out of ideas."

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, the first company on the planet to surpass $4 trillion in market capitalization , said in an interview with CNN on Sunday that the increase in productivity due to artificial intelligence (AI) could lead to job losses "if the world runs out of ideas."

The head of the world's largest chipmaker said that as long as companies continue to generate innovative ideas, there is room for productivity and employment to thrive. But, on the other hand, without new ambitions, "productivity declines."

"The bottom line is: Do we have more ideas left in society? And if we have them, if we are more productive, we will be able to grow," Huang said in statements reported by EFE .

According to Huang, AI will lead to the loss of "some jobs," but it will also create "many jobs." "What I hope is that the productivity gains we're seeing across all sectors will boost society," noted the CEO of Nvidia, a company that reached a world market capitalization record of $3.9 trillion at the close of trading on Wall Street on Wednesday.

In May, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warned that the rapid advance of AI could lead to 10 to 20 percent unemployment within five years and significantly impact office jobs.

Meanwhile, in June, customer service technology firm Salesforce said that this innovative technology already performs between 30 and 50% of the company's work.

California-based Nvidia has been used to power the data centers that companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google use to operate their AI models and cloud services.
